Ajantha-A way to find the Buddha within

The Ajantha Experience! I was feeling the caves’ energies more than seeing with my eyes. As I was walking from one cave other, I realised that the energy of each cave is different.

The first cave was very meditative. When I closed my eyes in front of the ‘ BuddhaPaani’, the famous painting - I could see strong and continuous light emitting from that painting. Dim and soothing lights are maintained in the caves. So the pictures could not be captured clearly. But that is not important. Anyways the pictures would not have captured my experiences.

The initial caves have displayed the paintings of Buddha’s past lives - Jataka Tales.Almost all of my experiences matched with the experiences of Sunilji Kurne, who is also an artist. Cave number 2 gave me heavy feeling, maybe sadness. Then, in cave 3,4 we all were very relaxed. There was dancing energies. I literally danced in these caves, could not stop myself. And in another cave, I felt heaviness and could not be still there, so I came out fast. To which Sunilji said, he too could not be 'STHIT' (still/composed) in that cave. He sensed that probably it could have been because of the Shiva Parwati carving, which depict the anger of Shiva, on Kailaas Parwat/mountain. The drinking water there too has a highly positive energy. Then the later cave number 16 was quiet and peaceful. There was a stirring of the ego emotion in cave 20. Cave 23 was amazingly musical. It felt as if the whole cave was a 'Taanpura'. You could connect to the 'sur'. Could feel 'The NAADBRAHMA' . There was also immense love energy in the cave 23, 24. The heart chakras were affected by the energies of these caves. There are Tantra images (sex to meditation) in these caves. In cave 24, there are no carvings, images, sculptures of Buddha. People say these last caves are incomplete. But, I certainly don’t think they are incomplete. Each cave is done with deep meaning and intent. These caves too have Tantirc and love energies. The earth energies are very prominent and they have their own reasons to design the cave 24 , the way it is designed. Then when we reached the last cave, no,25 - there were many people, feeling settled and comfortable there. Of course, being the last cave, people are bound to relaxed and resting. But then, this cave is the one that shows Buddha ‘s 'Nirvaana'. It has a very very peaceful, silent energy. We felt as if we have arrived home, after coming to this cave.

Sunilji and I, both separately shared the same experiences when we met out side this cave too. ANd not only that, he told me, "Manasi, go and experience The Buddha’s feet. Touch your head there and see what you feel”. Well, I had already taken the experienced. We both experienced the smell/aroma when we had touched the sleeping Buddha’s feet. It had a divine smell/aroma. I still want to go back to The Ajantha to check if that aroma is from within that statue or it has been externally perfumed. Divinity is flowing from the sleeping Buddha. There is also a sculpture of the Buddha, above the sleeping Buddha. It shows that He has left the body and the sliver cord, and is rising above his body, where His masters/angels are celebrating and welcoming Him! I could not stop my tears flowing in this cave. In this cave, at first I felt that these caves are built in this manner/intention/ order to show the evolution process of Buddha. Then I GOT THE REALISATION THAT THESE CAVES ARE MEANT TO GIVE US, HUMANS THE EXPERIENCE OF 'MUKTI'! Lo!!! Behold!! The thought itself was enlightening. Well the caves are made in such a way, that its energies help us to drop our 'maaya' one by one. The initial caves being those of Buddha's past lives, can help us to release our own past lives. Then we drop/give-up/go beyond our material belongings, angers, sorrows, egos and what comes last is sex. Unless, one rises above sex, one cannot be free. And it the most difficult element to rise above. Then and only then can one attain NIRVAANA!! So this is what the caves teach!! Now I know, why the caves are world famous. IT is not the story behind them, it is the INTENTION behind their design!! Each person may or may not be aware, but he/she will experience TRANSFORMATION. The huge golden Buddha in Bangkok is a copy of this Buddha and it has absolutely no spiritual energy, well it does have immense material energy. His journey BEGINS after the last cave, since he takes HOME the experience - knowingly or unknowingly. The ART FORM that gives the experience of transformation is the one that has to become a master piece! I could literally hear and converse with the stones. EAch stone was talking to me. Each stone is filled with life. EAch stone is ALIVE in Ajantha. Sunilji rightly exclaimed, “We have been here through out the day, as if, we owned the caves, so comfortable, so relaxed.” Yes, we both arrived home at the Ajantha! I have never read anything about these caves, except the stories the guides were telling at the Caves. Every stone and painting was our real Guide. And I am thankful to Buddha dear to give us his experience!! Love you Gautamji!
